Well, here I am, sitting at my keyboard, actively avoiding writing my book. Such is the life of an author.

Well, it’s been a hell of a time in terms of world news and developments over the past months. It takes a lot of effort to have the privilege I have, try to maintain some semblance of my own reality and truth for myself and those I counsel, while also being terribly at risk and in a good place in terms of work, life, and book balance.

Once again, I can’t believe so much time has passed since I wrote—and it’s only been since January! So much has happened and is continuing to happen, I don’t know if I can keep my head on straight.

I wonder what it would be like to look at the coming days, weeks, months, and years… and not feel a chill of fear shoot up my spine. How can I have hope when marginalized people are continually being told we’re being dramatic while being targeted by our representatives to remove basic rights and protections?

Oof. This one hurts.

It has been a busy summer for me - how about for you? I got to travel to Phoenix on vacation, and Idaho Falls and Billings for book events! When it comes to books, things are still cooking.

Hi all! It’s been a few months since I’ve updated things here, and I’ve definitely been busy! To update from my previous post in February, I did not move forward in the book to screenplay competition, but that definitely gave me a good boost to getting things done!

Part of being a writer is being rejected. It comes with the territory. However, there’s a difference between being rejected a few times for publishing versus being rejected over 100 times.

New Year, new me!

Well, here we are. I have lots of little updates about life, and most importantly—big updates about books!

Le sigh. I can’t believe it’s been since January since I’ve written anything.

That’s the question I’ve been asking ever since having a meeting with a wonderful consultant about my status as an author.
